Adam Stryker's Statement on AFP Nevada's Activities
In response to progressive statements found in the media we have compiled the following.
Americans For Prosperity, the largest conservative grassroots organization in Nevada, continues the fight for effective fiscal policy and a return to prosperity for the state. The Nevada chapter of AFP recently engaged in a citizen education effort highlighting the cronyism of one of Nevada’s least effective legislators at time when he should actually listen to his constituents. Additionally, hundreds of activists in Laughlin engaged in the civic duty of reaching out to their friends and neighbors – alerting them to the opportunity for the town of Laughlin to incorporate. AFP-Nevada was pleased to sponsor numerous events which led to a vigorous and informative debate.
This weekend the Nevada chapter is proud to welcome our 5th annual RightOnline conference, leading off with one of the most influential conservative leaders in our country, Governor Sarah Palin. RightOnline is the nations’ premier conservative new media conference which provides online activists with the latest strategies and techniques in new media applications.
“Nevada is fortunate to have an army of 32,000 citizen activists who are leading the fight against wasteful spending and damaging public policy in Nevada” said Adam Stryker, State Director. “This Friday, activists from across the country descended on Las Vegas and made over 10,000 phone calls, visited 3,000 residences and will continue to fight for prosperity.”
AFP activists have lead the way in shining a bright spotlight on numerous policy issues damaging our state economy including: the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s (www.stopsnwa.com) rate hike which has led small businesses, churches and charities to face closure or pay their water bill and the reckless efforts of union bosses in North Las Vegas (www.savenlv.com) which continue to drive the city, its residents and businesses into fiscal ruin.
AFP’s national field program was modeled after AFP Nevada’s execution of a successful effort in the special election for Congressional District 2 which saw activists make over 30,000 phone calls in 5 days. This strategy was then duplicated in the historic Wisconsin recall elections.
Our Hispanic outreach efforts have included hosting over 200 attendees at a round table discussion featuring several prominent Hispanic leaders, producing a gala event honoring the 500 most recent American citizens at the Nevadan’s By Choice Awards dinner (www.nvbychoice.org) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n50rrAFlAzs).
This Hispanic coalition building has culminated in the formation of Nevada Hispanics (www.nevadahispanics.com), a group who continues to reach out to the Hispanic community with a message of limited government and fiscal responsibility.
“In 2 short years from when we launched the Nevada chapter of Americans for Prosperity at the last RightOnline conference in Las Vegas, our activists have continued to impress me with their dedication to fighting for the future of our country and our state,” followed Stryker. “I could not be more proud of the numerous accomplishments that we have achieved in such a short time and am honored to be leading such a dynamic organization of patriots.”
