Time for Our Congressional Delegation to Stand Up for Nevadans
LAS VEGAS – Today Americans for Prosperity – Nevada called on the Congressional delegation to stand up to the new carbon regulations released by the EPA, which demands a 30 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
A recent report from the US Chamber of Commerce found that the proposed rule could destroy over 26,000 jobs in the region and hundreds of thousands of jobs nationally, based on its assumptions on a similar proposal by the Natural Resources Defense Council.
AFP – Nevada State Director Zac Moyle released the following statement:
“President Obama’s EPA is placing ideological zealotry above the need for commonsense energy solutions and job creation. Strangling carbon based energy is “unlikely” to have any positive environmental impact according to the Obama Administration itself, but it will destroy jobs and raise the cost of cooling our homes. Bureaucrats in Washington either have no awareness or no concern for how their policies will hurt the American people. It’s time for our U.S. Senators and Representatives to put partisan politics aside and stand up to the EPA for hardworking taxpayers in Nevada and across the nation.
We hope Senator Reid in particular will take some time off from his current saber-rattling and instead use his influence to protect Nevadans from a reckless, ideologically driven bureaucracy.”
