Where is Ben Nelson?

July 16, 2012

Last year, during Congress’ month long summer recess Sen. Ben Nelson refused to hold public town hall events and Nebraskans were denied an opportunity to get straight answers from our Senator.

Politicians need to remember they work for us.

We held Sen. Nelson accountable for his lack of transparency last year and we will do it again if Ben Nelson does not hold town hall meetings this summer recess.

Click here and tell Sen. Nelson that regardless of his decision to retire he still owes a responsibility to the taxpayers to explain his position on important policy issues.

Every member of Nebraska’s federal delegation held public town hall events last year except Sen. Ben Nelson.

With the economy still reeling, health care legislation being questioned by state leaders like Gov. Heineman and record government spending and burgeoning debt, Nebraskans deserve to have their voices heard at public town hall events.

Click here and tell Sen. Nelson to finish out his career in public service by giving Nebraskans a voice. The lame duck session of Congress this year promises to be tumultuous. Sen. Nelson’s vote in the Senate will be important. We need our Senator to represent Nebraska’s interests and the best way to do that is to actually meet with Nebraskans.
