EPA Regulations Stifling Nebraska’s Economy
President Obama is saying one thing and then doing another when it comes to government regulations.
The President said he wanted to remove “regulations that stifle job creation and make our economy less competitive.”
Unfortunately the President’s actions are not aligned with his rhetoric.
The Environmental Protection Agency has imposed a new utility regulation that will cost our state over 3,000 jobs and cause electricity prices to spike by as much as 24%.
Senator Ben Nelson must stand up to the EPA and stop this job-killing regulation, but he needs to hear from activists like you. Click here to contact him today!
The EPA’s new Utility MACT regulation has the stated purpose of reducing mercury emissions at power plants, but there is no credible evidence that this is even a real public health problem.
The actual goal here is to crush coal- and oil-fired plants under the weight of costly new mandates. As these plants close or pass the high cost of the new regulations along to consumers, electricity prices are expected to rise by as much as 24% and the American economy will lose well over a million jobs.
