Support for Keystone XL Pipeline Growing in Nebraska

May 10, 2012

“Nebraska voters strongly support the Keystone XL pipeline and there’s a bipartisan consensus on the issue.”

That according to Democratic-linked firm Public Policy Polling, which after conducting a statewide poll reported that 60% of Nebraskans support the pipeline project, with only 27% opposed.

Polling numbers are substantiated by what we are hearing on the ground. While plenty of Nebraskans still have specific questions about the pipeline; such as the exact route, spacing of pumping stations, etc. most Nebraskans we speak to are supportive of the economic benefits associated with this massive project.

We have held grassroots events across north-central Nebraska and we constantly hear that it’s time to build the pipeline.

KHAS has a great story about a recent local event in Central City we participated in.

Local report Annie Andrews of NTV also provided a solid report on this issue; pointing out there are still folks who disagree with the project.

Yet, based on the polling and what we are seeing on the ground, the majority of Nebraskans want the Obama Administration to quit playing political games and permit the pipeline to be built.
