Nebraska Taking Next Step to Safely Build Keystone XL

November 02, 2012 J,

Keystone XL Latest: NDEQ Releases most recent Review

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality has released its latest report on the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline.
While the report does not include a recommendation, the NDEQ does confirm that the “new route avoids the environmental sensitive Sandhills region and addresses a number of concerns Nebraskans raised”.

The Executive Summary can be found here.  The Lincoln Journal Star provided a summary of major points from the Executive Summary.

The report precedes a public hearing scheduled for December 4, at the Albion fair grounds.

While the common opponents to the pipeline move on to their next point of contention on their dwindling list of grumblings, those of us that support North American energy independence should be pleased with the latest report.  We have the momentum in seeing the Keystone XL through to fruition.
