Bob Kerrey Really Wants to Raise Your Taxes

July 31, 2012 J,

Bob Kerrey wants to raise taxes to solve our deficit problem.  And our debt problem.  Now Bob Kerrey wants to raise taxes again to shore up Social Security.

In an interview with Nebraska Watchdog Kerrey was asked by reporter Joe Jordan if his policy to increase Social Security taxes was a middle class tax increase.

Joe Jordan: “Is this a middle class tax increase?”

Bob Kerrey: “Yea, in some respects it is.”

Nebraskans are tired of hearing we don’t pay enough in taxes.  Between extremely high local property tax rates, high state income and sales tax rates and burdensome federal taxes and regulations that affect our small businesses, Nebraskans know we pay more than our fair share in taxes.

It is offensive when politicians like Bob Kerrey tell us we need to pay more.

It’s time for government to spend less.

Stop giving taxpayer money to corporate welfare, to failed green energy companies like Solyndra and no more extravagant parties at Las Vegas for GSA.

In a press release Kerrey called us liars because we told the truth: that he supports tax increases.

He will probably call us liars again.  But the truth is this: Nebraskans are tired of seeing our tax dollars wasted.  The solution is not raising taxes, it is cutting spending.
