Americans for Prosperity Critical of Leirion Gaylor Baird’s Record

LINCOLN, NE – Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska, a statewide free market advocacy group, has launched radio ads informing Lincoln residents that, as Planning Commissioner, Leirion Gaylor Baird supported a property tax increase and diverted funds away from necessary capital road improvements.

You can listen to the ad by clicking here.

“Lincoln simply cannot afford the tax-and-spend policies Leirion Gaylor Baird has advocated for while serving on the Planning Commission,” said state director Brad Stevens.

“After Lincoln’s high property tax burden the second most common complaint made by residents is our outdated transportation system.  Lincoln needs to upgrade our roads infrastructure, but instead of funding this critical need Leirion Gaylor Baird advocated for diverting funds from capital road projects to sidewalks.  These policies simply don’t reflect Lincoln’s priorities,” continued Stevens.

In addition to these radio ads AFP-Nebraska volunteers have been going door-to-door across Lincoln sharing literature detailing the tax-and-spend record of Councilman Gene Carroll.
