AFP-Nebraska Applauds Gov. Heineman for Approving Keystone XL Nebraska Route

*Advocacy Group Calls on President Obama to Follow Nebraska Governor’s Lead*

LINCOLN, NE – Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska, a free market advocacy group with over 40,000 members statewide, today applauds Gov. Heineman for approving the Nebraska route of the Keystone XL pipeline.

“Gov. Heineman’s approval of the Keystone XL pipeline is an important step towards greater economic growth, energy security and the creation of thousands of new, good-paying jobs,” said state director Brad Stevens.

“The majority of Nebraskans support this project because after years of thoughtful study and a reroute of the project that avoids the Sand Hills, we recognize the project is safe and will be a catalyst for economic growth,” continued Stevens.

“We applaud Gov. Heineman for taking leadership on a project that will grow our economy in an environmentally sensitive way.  The only remaining obstacle between this project and putting thousands of Americans back to work is a Presidential permit.  We encourage President Obama to follow our governor’s lead and approve this important project without delay,” said Stevens.
