Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska Supports Elimination of the Learning Community

LINCOLN, NE – Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska, a free market advocacy group with over 40,000 members statewide, today applauds Sen. Bill Kintner for introducing legislation to eliminate the Omaha-area based learning community.
“The learning community has failed to produce results for Nebraska’s children. The learning community is an educational bureaucracy that adds another layer to an already expensive local property tax bill without producing results,” said state director Brad Stevens.
“We applaud Sen. Kintner for standing up for Nebraska’s children by demanding education reform that works. The learning community had its chance and did not produce results for Nebraska’s students. It is time to institute real reform that puts children first instead of creating additional layers of administrative overhead,” continued Stevens.
