Events to Address Assaults on Economic Freedom

September 19, 2013

During the last few weeks of August, AFP-Montana has been touring throughout Montana talking up the virtues of economic freedom and warning activists of the threats posed by wasteful federal spending on our free market economy. In some places and by request of local groups, we are also screening, FrackNation, an excellent documentary that debunks the myths and half-truths of extreme environmentalists bent on halting application of this innovative technology. Fracking can break through the economic quagmire engulfing the nation can literally transform America and Montana into an energy powerhouse (pun intended). That’s why we say, #StopWastefulSpending and #EnergizeMontana.

These are important and timely messages. Congress will be taking up the debt ceiling limit this fall and for the 30th time many will be seeking to raise it without even making the necessary cuts in wasteful government spending.

The power of economic freedom has given the American people more opportunity and more prosperity than any other society in history. Since the founding of this great nation, economic freedom has made America the most productive nation on earth and has allowed individuals and families to live better, healthier, and more economically secure lives.

However, our economic freedom is under assault. Massive government over-spending—$17 trillion in accumulated debt and $120+ trillion more in unfunded liabilities—government overregulation and increased global competition, presents significant challenges to our economic system.

“These are staggering numbers that threaten our economic freedom and way of life,” says Joe Balyeat, AFP-MT State Director. “How do we get out from under this burden? Let’s begin by cutting wasteful federal spending, reducing the debt and balancing the federal budget without burdening Montana families and businesses with even more taxes.”

At these events, we are discussing the unique benefits of economic freedom, the specific threats to our prosperity and what we can do to get us back on course. You’ll also learn the key messages you can easily share with your friends, family and colleagues…a must for every serious activist and freedom advocate.
