Tax or Treat?
Jackson County, MO – It’s Halloween and Jackson County, Missouri taxpayers have a reason to be scared out of their wits! Not because of Zombies, Werewolves, Mummies, or Vampires looking to wreak havoc, but because of politicians who are after your hard earned money!
AFP – Missouri has identified three blood curdling ballot questions on the November 5th ballot that if passed will make you scream when you pay your taxes!
Here are the three questions aimed at raising your taxes!
- Question No. 1 seeks to have Jackson County impose a sales tax at the rate of one – half percent for a 20 year period to develop a medical research institute. Click here to read more.
- The City of Blue Springs also wants to impose a sales tax of on-half of one percent (2 of 1%) to fund local parks for the city, including, but not limited to, the construction of a community recreation center, park maintenance and more. Click here to read more.
- The Jackson County Public Water Supply District No. 13 would like to issue waterworks system revenue bonds in the amount of $3 million to cover the costs of constructing, extending, equipping and improving its waterworks system. To learn more, click here.
The time has come to send a message to our local and county elected officials that we’ve had enough of their insatiable appetite for our hard earned money.
