Missouri House Passes Tax Cut
Jefferson City, MO – Yesterday the Missouri House passed SB 509 by a vote of 104 to 48. This would be the first broad based income tax cut in almost 100 years.
SB 509 would modify the individual income tax rate table. The individual tax rate on personal income would be reduced by one-half of a percent over a period of years, starting in 2017.
Last year, Governor Nixon vetoed a similar measure that would bring tax relief to Missouri families and businesses. Governor Nixon’s insatiable appetite for your money hasn’t lessened over the last year and AFP – Missouri anticipates he will veto SB 509. To ensure you receive a small portion of your hard earned dollars back into your pockets, go ahead and encourage your representative to override the veto!
