Here are the tax increases looming in Jackson County:
- Question No. 1 seeks to have Jackson County impose a sales tax at the rate of one – half percent for a 20 year period to develop a medical research institute.
- The City of Blue Springs also wants to impose a sales tax of on-half of one percent (2 of 1%) to fund local parks for the city, including, but not limited to, the construction of a community recreation center, park maintenance and more.
- The Jackson County Public Water Supply District No. 13 would like to issue waterworks system revenue bonds in the amount of $3 million to cover the costs of constructing, extending, equipping and improving its waterworks system.
The time has come to send a message to our local and county elected officials that we’ve had enough of their insatiable appetite for our hard earned money. Join us to learn how you can stop it!
