St. Louis, MO – Americans for Prosperity – Missouri, the state’s leading advocate for fiscal responsibility would like to wish all Missourians a happy and safe Independence Day!
On July 2,1776, the Second Continental Congress unanimously voted to approve a resolution of independence that would declare the United States independent from Great Britain. On July 4th, the Continental Congress put the finishing touches on The Declaration of Independence. The Declaration served as announcement to the American people of their reasons for dissolving their relationship with Great Britain. It also set forth a new government, whose foundation would be set on Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
“The 4th of July is cause for great celebration. It is important to celebrate our great nation’s long standing tradition of advocating for freedom, standing up for liberty, and giving everyone the opportunity to prosper. On your busy 4th of July, please take some time between fireworks celebrations, parades, and backyard barbequing to read the Declaration of Independence and thank you Founding Fathers for the amazing sacrifice they made for the inception of this incredible nation,” said Patrick Werner, Americans for Prosperity Missouri State Director.
