Bus Tour for the 1st Tax Cut in 92 Years: Kirksville

August 21, 2013

Kirksville, MO – Americans for Prosperity and the Grow Missouri coalition partners will be back on the road for the Grow Missouri Bus Tour in Kirksville on Thursday, August 22th at 6:00 pm to support the first Missouri tax cut in 92 years!

In the 2013 Missouri legislative session the House passed HB 253 which paved the way for the first tax reduction in Missouri in nearly 100 years!  The bill reduces the individual income tax rate from 6% to 5.5% over a 10 year period.  This bill will help stimulate Missouri’s stagnant economy by allowing hardworking Missourians to keep more of their hard earned money.  The bill also reduces the corporate tax rate by 3% over the next decade to help ease the burden of our small business owners and job creators.

Governor Nixon vetoed HB 253 failing to embrace the free market principles that have launched neighboring states like Oklahoma and Kansas into economic growth.

We hope you will join us tomorrow to send a message to our elected officials that our state’s future depends on overriding Governor Nixon’s veto.
