Rachel will also give an update on AFP – Missouri’s effort to work with citizen activists and Missouri elected officials to overturn Governor Nixon’s veto of Missouri’s first income tax deduction in over 90 years during veto session.
In looking forward to the 2014 legislative session, Payton will discuss the need for more free market solutions, real spending caps and freedom to work legislation. The necessity for executive leadership from Gov. Nixon and republican super majorities in the Missouri House and Senate to pass Bold Ideas to make Missouri a competitive destination for families and businesses. According to Payton, “Reforms are needed in the area of taxes, healthcare, education, and labor or Missouri will risk falling behind in the competitive marketplace.”
