On the heels of President Obama’s visit to Missouri, AFP – Missouri activists organized an online and grassroots effort to collect petitions calling for the repeal of Obamacare.
Rachel Payton of AFP – Missouri said, “We were overwhelmed, but not surprised by the number of Missourians who are vehemently opposed President Obama’s healthcare takeover. The Missouri taxpayers have made it very clear they are opposed to Obamacare. Missourians first rejected this healthcare takeover in the voting booth in 2010 and again in 2012 by rejecting the expansion of health insurance exchanges.”
Missouri business leaders have also expressed great concern over the mandates Obamacare places on them. The Affordable Health Care Law would require small companies throughout Missouri to pay for healthcare coverage or receive a penalty of $3,000 per year.
“I think we are starting to see the tip of the iceberg when it comes to job cuts and reduced employee hours due to Obamacare. This, on top of all the other federal, state and local regulations, is making it increasingly difficult for many Missouri small businesses to stay competitive in the marketplace.” Patrick Werner, State Director, Americans for Prosperity.
