LANSING, Mich.—On the heels of a crucial vote in the House Competitiveness Committee, the grassroots group Americans for Prosperity-Michigan urged state lawmakers to resist expanding Medicaid as allowed under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Arlington, VA – Americans for Prosperity, the largest free market grassroots organization, has launched a bold effort in Michigan and Pennsylvania to urge key state representatives and senators to vote against irresponsible and unaffordable expansion of Medicaid under President Obama’s health care law. Thousands of activists are expected to make calls to their lawmakers, and online ads will run carrying the message: “Medicaid is Bad Medicine.”
This budget signals a prudent and responsible direction for Michigan’s fiscal future. Even as the federal budget hemorrhages red ink, Michigan state lawmakers deserve credit for pursuing a different path that does not mortgage our children’s future.
