House Passes Concurrent Resolution Continuing Common Core

Today, the Michigan House of Representatives passed House Concurrent Resolution No. 11 with a vote of 85-21.

A concurrent resolution to authorize the State Board of Education and the Michigan Department of Education to move forward to expend resources to implement the use of the Common Core State Standards so long as the conditions of this concurrent resolution are met.

Americans for Prosperity opposes the Common Core because national standards are not the solution to improving the quality of education through choice and competition. It also has significant impacts regarding private schools and homeschoolers.
