House Passes Bills Ending Registration For Auctioneers

May 30, 2013 J

According to Gongwer Michigan, the House passed legislation eliminating registration of the state’s auctioneers.

The bills (HB 4681, HB 4682, HB 4683 and HB 4684) would eliminate the need for auctioneers to voluntarily register with the state. With only about 55 auctioneers registered this year, the bills are projected to save the state about $40,000 annually.

Unnecessary licensing requirements can deter entrepreneurship, stopping someone from pursuing their ‘good life.’ Government does right when it eliminates these unnecessary barriers to entry.
