AFP-MI to Offer Grand Rapids-Area Drivers Gas at $1.84 Per Gallon
Gas promotion part of the AFP Obama’s Failing Agenda bus tour
BYRON CENTER, Mich. – Americans for Prosperity-Michigan will offer Grand Rapids-area drivers gasoline at $1.84[i] per gallon—the cost of gas four years ago when President Obama took office. The promotion will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 3rd, beginning at 7:30 a.m., at a Marathon gas station located in Byron Center, 8391 Byron Center Ave.
“We want to remind people what the true cost of President Obama’s failed green energy policies has been,” said Scott Hagerstrom, state director of Americans for Prosperity-Michigan. “President Obama has made it more expensive for Michigan families to drive to work, take our children to school and sporting events, and make trips to the grocery store.”
- WHO: Americans for Prosperity-Michigan
- WHAT: Obama’s Failing Agenda, $1.84 gasoline promotion
(Note: gasoline will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Reduced-price gas will be limited to the first 150 vehicles, with each vehicle being limited to 15 gallons)
- WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 3rd, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
- WHERE: Marathon station, 8391 Byron Center Ave., Byron Center, MI, 49315
“The President claims to have an ‘all of the above’ energy policy, yet his Administration has rescinded oil and gas leases and held up oil permits with bureaucratic red tape,” said Hagerstrom. “Average retail gasoline prices have more than doubled under President Obama. That has caused Michiganders pain at the pump, but also increased the cost of consumer goods such as groceries.”
The Obama’s Failing Agenda bus tour will educate Americans on the most harmful aspects of President Obama’s big-government agenda, and help put grassroots pressure on politicians to turn away from these destructive policies. The stop in Flint will include educational information and a petition addressed to the President for citizens to complete.
