Over 50 AFP-Maryland supporters attended the chapter kickoff press conference at Lawyers Mall demanding accountability from their elected officials and less government intrusion into their daily lives. Cookie Kiser, owner of the famous "City Line Diner" on Ft. Smallwood Rd, stole the show. As an entrepreneur, single mother, and employer of 30, Cookie lamented about the future of Maryland if we continue down the current path of large deficits and an even larger government.

ANNAPOLIS- Grassroots free-market group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) will kick off its newest state chapter in Maryland with a press conference at the State House on Thursday, April 2nd. AFP National President Tim Phillips will join AFP-Maryland State Director Dave Schwartz in laying out the organization’s vision for the Free State.

We finally have some good news to come out of Congress as the Card Check bill in the U.S. Senate has hit a wall. After Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) announced he would not be supporting the bill in it's current form, Senate Democrats came to the realization that they probably do not have the votes to pass it.
