In a recent U.S. Senate committee vote, legislators have voted down an amendment to allow the public to see the entire bill, and its cost, 72 hours prior to a vote. Hundreds of thousands of citizens hit the streets of Washington on 9/12 for a "March on DC" to protest government-run health care, cap and trade, and big Government. Marylanders were represented well, as over 30 buses left the Old Line state filled with people who wanted to have their voice heard.
The Patients First Bus Tour will be making two stops in Maryland on Monday September 14th - Annapolis and Ocean City. AFP-Maryland will be hosting rallies at both locations to update citizens on the health care debate and educate them about free market alternatives to many of the government-run plans currently being proposed on Capitol Hill. This is also a great opportunity to tell Rep. Kratovil (MD-01), a swing vote in the House of Representatives, that we do not want a "public option".
As promised, with the help of Maryland Taxpayers Association, here is a comprehensive list of buses heading to the 9/12 Rally in Washington, DC this Saturday. Feel free to contact us for more information!
Bel Air - for $30 each, buses will be leaving 220 Main St in Bel Air at 7 am returning at 5 pm. So far, 10 buses are filled. Contact Tony Passaro at (443)350-0520 or apassaro@crosslink.net.
While County Executive Jim Smith and his administration continue to push this as a “safety” issue, we know this is nothing more than a hidden tax. On Tuesday September 8th, AFP will be helping to organize a rally outside of the County Council chambers before the vote later that evening. Come out to have your voice heard on this important local issue. Details are below.
