O'Malley Funds Campaign Style Brochure, Not Roads

January 31, 2013

While Governor O’Malley is complaining that he doesn’t have enough money to fix and build Maryland roads, he was able to find enough of your hard-earned tax dollars to waste on this campaign style brochure (see below) at yesterday’s “State of the State” address.  This full colored, professionally designed, 18-page booklet seems like a pitch for O’Malley’s next political career, not an update on the state budget.

Here are the highlights from O’Malley’s campaign-like brochure. All attendees at the 2013 “State of the State” received the booklet – compliments of you.

The one item missing from this fabulously expensive looking brag sheet is where the money came from to pay for all of these “accomplishments.”  O’Malley has stolen more than $1 billion from the Transportation Trust Fund during his tenure – much of it to fund mass transit and expand Medicaid.  The brochure is just more proof that Annapolis cannot be trusted to spend our gas tax dollars properly.  It’s time that politicians do the right thing by abandoning a gas tax hike and make restoring the Transportation Trust Fund a budget priority.
