Contact Rep. Harris on his Farm Bill Vote
Unbelievably Congressman Andy Harris abandoned his free market values and voted for the bloated Farm Bill, keeping the status quo of sending corporate welfare handouts to big agriculture. You and I know that when elected officials make it to Washington they often forget their principles and their campaign promises for reforming government. You can’t afford to let Rep. Harris become another statistic of becoming just another big government DC politician.
After the House of Representatives rejected the big, bloated Farm Bill last month, the bill’s sponsors split the food stamp title from farm program title. Disappointingly, House leadership prohibited members from amending this “farm-only Farm Bill,” in order to fast-track the bill and shield it from reform. This is another chance Congress missed to reform our broken farm programs!
Here’s a rundown of what Andy really voted for:
- 5 more years of corporate welfare handouts for big agriculture. ·
- More Big Government meddling in the nation’s agriculture markets
- No protections for taxpayers from runaway government spending
