New Year, Same Old Story
With this year’s General Assembly to kick off we are already seeing the damaging effects of enacting a tax increase.
Pepsi has shut down it’s
Baltimore City manufacturing citing the 2 cents beverage tax as a factor. 77 jobs were lost.
We sincerely hope that Annapolis during session takes a hard look at the policies effecting businesses in Maryland. Tax burdens from local and State governments are adding up to hurdles small businesses can’t overcome and large businesses having to make tough decisions to stay viable.
Maryland cannot afford any job killing tax increases like Maryland Senate President Mike Miller’s gas tax hike or the dime a drink alcohol tax.
There is only so much money to go around…
