AFP-ME Helps Pull the Plug on the Plug In Car Tax Credit

March 20, 2013

AFP-ME was proud to serve as the lone voice speaking in opposition at a recent hearing on LD 361. Sponsored by Senator Geoffrey Gratwick, LD 361, would give a $1000 Maine tax credit for purchase of plug in car.

While supporters of the bill asserted the legislation would bring costs down, AFP-ME countered that this bill only shifts the cost of a very expensive car to the people who can’t afford one and are holding their pick-up trucks together with duct tape.

The bill is still being held in Committee but reports as Ought Not to Pass (ONTP).

This move is a victory for all hard working Mainers!
