Update: No Empty Promises!

December 11, 2013

We’d like to thank you for your effort yesterday in contacting members of our Kansas congressional delegation, and to bring you up to date on the latest news from Washington.

Thanks to the thousands of activists nationwide who sent emails and made phone calls yesterday, we are starting to make some progress on stopping a budget deal that breaks the promises our elected officials made about federal spending.

Several members of Congress decided to change their votes after hearing from concerned activists like you, and we know that here in Kansas, Rep. Mike Pompeo has signed on to a letter asking House leadership to keep the funding at the level put in place by the sequester cuts. Rep. Tim Huelskamp plans to oppose the budget deal. Thank you for your time and effort yesterday!

However, there is still work to be done. To date, we still do not know how Reps. Lynn Jenkins and Kevin Yoder will vote on this measure.  I urge you to contact Reps. Jenkins and Yoder and let them know that Kansans have their back in opposing this budget deal. Otherwise the spending reductions they fought to implement will be nothing more than empty promises.

After you’ve emailed them, you can follow up with a phone call.  You can call 877-340-0186 to be patched through to their offices.

Please email us back and let us know when you’ve made the call. Thank you for working to make sure politicians will not go back on their promises!
