Upcoming meetings and events in Wichita
7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the Sedgwick County Courthouse: The Sedgwick County Area Legislative Delegation will take public comments. This is an opportunity to let local legislators know your wishes on issues to be considered during the upcoming 2013 Legislative Session. Public comments will be taken from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Jury Room of the courthouse (525 N. Main).
1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at Wichita State University: The South Center Kansas Legislative Delegation will take testimony from local governments such as the city of Wichita, Sedgwick County, local school districts, and organizations such as the Wichita Chamber, Wichita Independent Business Association, etc., regarding their legislative agendas. The meeting will go from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Suderman Room of WSU’s Hughes Metroplex (29th & Oliver). The public is invited to attend, but there will be no public comment session.
7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14 at Spangles (612 S. Broadway): The Wichita Chapter of Americans for Prosperity-Kansas will host a public forum, “Good Intentions Gone Wrong,” and will feature several short DVD presentations and a group discussion. There is no admission cost for the meeting; the only cost is the price of your meal if you choose to eat.
