Kansas Issues This Week: Medicaid Expansion
The Medicaid program in Kansas needs to be reformed, not expanded. Putting more people into a broken system doesn’t make anyone better off.
It’s an incredibly costly program, with estimated costs between $822 million and $1.39 billion over the next 10 years, even after the federal government pays its share. Rather than continuing to pour resources into an inefficient program, we should be focused on weeding out waste and abuse so we can provide quality, affordable care to those who need it the most.
