Americans for Prosperity-Kansas Announces Deputy State Director

February 18, 2014

TOPEKA, KAN. – The free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity has announced Rodger Woods as its new Kansas Deputy State Director.

Woods worked for AFP-Kansas from 2007 to 2008 as a grassroots coordinator before being deployed overseas.

“We’re excited to welcome Rodger back to AFP,” said State Director Jeff Glendening. “Rodger will be representing our 40,000-plus activists in the Statehouse on a regular basis, and he is a great addition to the AFP-Kansas team with his political experience across the state.”

As Deputy State Director, Woods will be heavily involved in policy development and research, and he will also serve as a registered lobbyist in the Statehouse.

“I am glad to be back with Americans for Prosperity,” Woods said. “I enjoyed working with grassroots activists during my previous time at AFP, and look forward to this new role where I will have the opportunity to work on behalf of Kansas taxpayers.”

Aside from his prior experience with AFP, the Hutchinson native has dedicated 22 years of service in the U.S. Army and the Kansas Army National Guard, as well as working on multiple political campaigns at the state and local level. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas, and his law degree from KU’s School of Law.

He began his new position with Americans for Prosperity last week.
