National Running on Empty Tour to Stop in Topeka & Kansas City to Inform Citizens of Federal Policies Impacting Gas Prices, Jun
TOPEKA, KS – The free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF) is bringing its nationwide Running on Empty Tour to Topeka on June 9 and Kansas City on June 10 to warn American taxpayers of how President Obamas regulatory and energy policies are causing skyrocketing energy prices particularly prices at the gas pump.
Big government regulations have Americans running on empty. When President Obama took office, the price of gasoline was $1.83 per gallon; its now $3.78 per gallon, a 106 percent increase. Since taking office, he has paid lip service to allowing domestic production but has taken every step possible to block American energy, said Americans for Prosperity Foundation President Tim Phillips. Obamas hostility toward domestic production and his desire to use high gas prices to change Americans driving behavior are contributing to the escalating cost of fuel.
The goal of AFP Foundations Running on Empty Tour is to educate the public on what the Obama Administration could do through executive action to bring down the cost of fuel and restore stability in the market. Citizens will speak out against the disastrous energy policies in place and the pain these policies are causing them at the gas pump each time they fill up.
Concerned citizens at the tour stops will have the opportunity to determine how much their gas bill has gone up since Obama took office. They also will be able to go online to RunningOnEmptyTour.com to calculate the impact of the Administrations energy policies and its overregulation of industry. Attendees will hear from AFP Foundation President Tim Phillips, AFP Foundation Kansas State Director Derrick Sontag, and more.
