What you need to know about Common Core Standards

February 15, 2013

Kansas legislators have been discussing legislation to ban Common Core standards in the Sunflower State.

Common Core is estimated to cost the states $15.8 billion in the first seven years after its implementation, it takes control away from state educators, and it simply repeats the same failed strategy of raising academic standards that has been tried in Washington for decades.

Learn more about this costly, ineffective mandate from our sister organization, Americans for Prosperity Foundation, here.

The Georgia chapter of Americans for Prosperity has done some work on fighting these national standards and federal mandates, and you can learn more about their efforts on their website.
