Americans for Prosperity Foundation recognized Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina this month with the third annual Washington Award, given to an individual “who has contributed in a powerful and unique way to defending our economic freedoms,” said Foundation Chairman David Koch.

Thanks to AFP members’ support for free market policies and limited government, Texas is the only large state with no budget deficit – we have $9 billion in our rainy day fund.
Texas created more jobs than any other state last year – 70% of the jobs created in the U.S. last year were in the Lone Star State.
