- Policy Paper Details Influence, Corruption and Control in H.R. 2454 -

AFP just released a study detailing the special interest influence used to grease H.R. 2454’s passage through the U.S. House. The policy paper examines how campaign contributions, pork-barrel projects and free carbon emission allowances were all used to buy the votes of hesitant representatives. The paper also looks at how Wall Street trading houses, electricity producers and the Left’s political allies all stand to benefit from the Waxman-Markey energy tax bill.

Prominent sections include:
* Free Allowances: The Biggest Corporate Welfare Program in History,
* Wall Street Getting Rich Trading Emission Permits
* Eco-Protectionism: Are Carbon Tariffs Smoot-Hawley II?
* Carbon Offset Credits and the Forestry Industry

The entire study can be found by clicking here

The Obama administration is doing everything it can to drag its feet and prevent us from accessing American energy resources. They are trying to ignore the millions of Americans who demanded access to American energy resources by secretly putting the ban back in place.

Even more amazing and outrageous: the Obama administration is now actually poised to lend $2 billion from U.S. taxpayers to the Brazilian national oil company, Petrobras, for offshore drilling in Brazil.

For the record:

Contrary to the misstatement by op-ed writer Judith Lewis in today's L.A. Times, AFP's national organization is not based in Arizona.

Here was the relevant quote:

The takedown of Van Jones was openly orchestrated by Americans for Prosperity, an Arizona-based conservative organization... In an editorial for the Fox News website, the group's policy director, Phil Kerpen, crowed that his attempt to ruin Jones was "one of the most significant things I've ever had the honor of being involved in."
