Visit with Latham's Des Moines office
Just days after the U.S. House passed a delay to both the individual and employer mandates in Obamacare, we had the opportunity to sit down with Congressman Latham’s staff in the Des Moines office. We had the pleasure of beginning the meeting by expressing our gratitude for Latham’s vote to delay those two mandates, but after that, we turned our attention to what the government could be doing to make our healthcare better.
The same keys seem to unlock so many of our problems; limit burdensome regulations, open the markets for true competition and let individuals make their own decisions about what products and services best meet their needs. In healthcare, there’s another important issue that we talk about regularly, which is the restriction of government intervention. In healthcare, government intervention has lead to fraud, waste and abuse and we can only expect to see more of the same under Obamacare.
