Drew Klein Promoted to Deputy State Director of Americans for Prosperity
Long-Time Iowa Activist Will Run Large Field Program and Lobbying Efforts
IOWA CITY – Today Americans for Prosperity – Iowa promoted lifelong Iowan Drew Klein to Deputy State Director. In his new role, Drew will be in charge of the organization’s 20+ person field program and lobbying at the State Capitol.
“Drew has consistently proven himself a capable communicator, grassroots strategist, and manager,” explained Iowa State Director Mark Lucas. “Promoting him to Deputy State Director was a no-brainer. His hard work and talent is making a real difference in AFP’s efforts build a grassroots army for economic freedom and limited government in Iowa. Drew’s efforts are keeping taxes lower and government smaller. It’s an honor to have him on the team.”
Drew Klein has quickly become a leader in Iowa’s conservative political circles. A lifelong Iowan, born and raised in Newton, Drew got his start in field operations during the 2008 election cycle. Since that time, his resume has grown to include work on well over a dozen campaigns at both the state and national levels, legislative and policy experience from time spent working in the state capitol and a statewide network of contacts including leaders in both elected and non-elected positions. Drew ran the 2012 field effort for Americans for Prosperity. Drew is a graduate of Drake University and currently resides in Des Moines with his wife and their two young daughters.
