What We Achieved Together in 2012

January 08, 2013

As we head into 2013, I wanted to quickly give you a summary of what we achieved together this past year.

It is hard to believe that just a little over a year ago we embarked on this journey to launch the Indiana Chapter of Americans for Prosperity. Since that time, we have organized countless town halls, rallies, and events to both educate and engage Hoosiers who desire economic freedom. Together, we have voiced our concerns to our elected policymakers and have made a difference in promoting the limited government and free market principles which lead to prosperity.

The numbers for 2012 speak for themselves…

70 AFP-Indiana Sponsored or Participated Events

1,500 Emails and Postcards Sent to State Legislators

7,000 Signed Online Petitions

20,000 Doors Knocked On

330,000 Phone Calls Made

2.5 Million Pieces of Mail Sent to Hoosiers Statewide

Other TV, Radio, Billboard, Social Media and Newspaper Ads to Drive our Message

And consider what we achieved…

Passage of Right-to-Work

Passage of the Inheritance (Death)Tax Phase Out

9,000 Fans of the AFP-Indiana Facebook Page

70% Growth in AFP-Indiana Activists

40,000 Activists Now Statewide

Together, we have built a firm foundation. Your efforts and help were critical in making this happen, but there is still much work to do.

Looking ahead, AFP – Indiana will continue to be a voice in our state for limited government and free market principles. We will continue to build our grassroots organization not just in terms of overall numbers, but also in those who take leadership roles at the local level to organize activists community by community.

This is a movement focused on protecting taxpayers and promoting freedom in our schools and workplaces. This is a movement made up of young professionals, retirees, college students, business owners, and others who care deeply about their state and country.

Join us today and become an activist for your state and community. Please visit www.AFPIndiana.org for regular updates as we head into the 2013 Indiana Legislative Session. You can also email infoIN@afphq.org to find out how you can get more involved in our efforts to advance economic freedom.

As Congress recently and frequently reminds us, we have many challenges ahead. Together, we will continue working to help move our state and country to a brighter future.

Sincerely,
Chase Downham
Indiana State Director
Americans for Prosperity
