Thousands Embrace School Choice, but Opposition Remains from Teacher Union

November 21, 2012

School Choice is on the rise in Indiana.

As reported in the Indianapolis Star, Indiana’s Choice Scholarship Program nearly doubled in size over the last year! Today, over 9,000 Hoosier children are benefiting from school choice. No longer are families limited by their means or where they live when it comes to K-12 education. How could anyone be against giving parents this wonderful opportunity to find the school that best meets their individual child’s needs?

Today, the teacher’s union is fighting to eliminate the program and force children into schools that may not be best for them. Indiana’s Supreme Court is hearing arguments this morning in a case brought to them by the union.

Let’s all hope the court does the right thing and recognizes the thousands of children and future thousands that are benefiting from school choice.
