Doubts Grow Concerning Light Rail
An interesting story about Indianapolis Mass Transit appeared over the weekend by the Indianapolis Star. According to the report, bus rapid transit may soon take the place of light rail as a key component of the proposed Indianapolis Mass Transit expansion.
Light rail has proven time and again to overrun budget estimates and greatly increase the cost of public mass transit. While there is still more work to do to protect Hoosier taxpayers, a move to bus rapid transit is a potentially good first step.
