New Radio Ad: Hoosiers Want Tax Relief, Not More Spending

Americans for Prosperity Gives Voice to Popular Support for 10% Income Tax Cut

Indianapolis, IN – In response to the recently-released poll showing that a majority of Hoosiers support Governor Pence’s proposed budget and tax cut, Americans for Prosperity – Indiana is releasing a new statewide radio ad. The ad builds on AFP’s on-going efforts to urge the General Assembly to give more tax relief to Hoosier families and hold the line on government spending.

“Hoosiers made it clear in our poll that they overwhelmingly support the Governor’s proposed tax relief and want the General Assembly to pass a budget that prioritizes taxpayers, not government spending,” explained Chase Downham, State Director of Americans for Prosperity –Indiana. “Our ad puts a face on the numbers and reminds the General Assembly that their budget will have consequences for real Hoosier families.”

Earlier this week Americans for Prosperity released a poll showing that a strong, bipartisan majority of Hoosiers favor the Pence budget over the alternatives. An astounding 65% approve of the job Pence is doing as Governor. The popular support for tax relief is compounded by revenue projections released Tuesday which confirm that the state can deliver substantial tax relief, including a 10% income tax cut.

“As the General Assembly goes into its final budget negotiations, Americans for Prosperity’s activists remain vigilant and engaged,” Downham continued. “We expect the General Assembly to do the right thing and pass strong tax relief, not give more money to favored government programs.”

Over the past three months Americans for Prosperity activists have knocked on over 25,000 doors, attended over 50 events, sent 6,000 emails and placed nearly 2,000 calls to the state legislature.
