Senators in NH, NC, LA held accountable for ObamaCare Impact
Arlington, VA – Today Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s largest grassroots champion for health care freedom, announced the launch of a multimillion dollar ad effort holding three US senators accountable for their support of the President’s health care law. TV ads will begin airing this week that put pressure on Senator Hagan in North Carolina, Senator Landrieu in Louisiana, and notably, Senator Shaheen in New Hampshire – a lawmaker that has not been the subject of AFP’s past accountability efforts. The ads will run in major media markets for the next three weeks.

AFP President Tim Phillips said, “President Obama repeatedly promised Americans that they could keep their current health care plans and doctors if they chose, but millions have found out the hard way that this was the Lie of the Year.
“We’re putting pressure on senators who repeated that lie and doubled down on ObamaCare even as it became obvious that the law was hurting millions of Americans. The story of ObamaCare is one of less choice, rising premiums, and broken promises. AFP is committed to a long-term effort to stop this law.”
President Obama’s promise that “If you like your plan, you can keep it” was rated as the Lie of the Year by Politifact, yet Democrat senators have continued to support Obama’s signature law. AFP’s accountability message will run on cable and broadcast networks, and will be supported by radio and online ads as well as robust grassroots action throughout the state.
Last Fall, AFP spent over $16 million on a series of TV ads holding politicians accountable for their support of ObamaCare, and thanking others who have stood against the law.
