AFP-IL Assists Voters in Rejecting Local Sales Tax Increase

Americans for Prosperity- Illinois was proud to assist concerned Morgan County taxpayers in educating voters about a proposed 15% increase in the sales tax on the Primary ballot. As a result, voters rejected the sales tax increase by a margin of 63% to 37%. One of the leaders of the opposition, Dennis Collins, observed correctly that “(voters) are not ready for another tax.” The same can be said for voters across Illinois which is why AFP-IL will continue assisting taxpayers in fighting for tax increases and higher government spending.
