Become a Torchbearer

March 06, 2013

The Americans for Prosperity – Illinois Torchbearer program was created for Illinois activists who are guardians of liberty and economic prosperity in their communities. Torchbearers are leaders, not only through their dedication in the fight to preserve our freedoms, but also by their commitment to expose efforts that attempt to dismantle them.

By becoming an AFP-Illinois Torchbearer you stand out among your peers as a leader in the fight for economic freedom.

Torchbearers serve as the local eyes and ears of AFP-Illinois by exposing efforts to increase the size and scope of local government through higher taxes and more debt. They also organize and lead efforts in their communities to recruit and organize fellow activists for grassroots activities such as:

  • • Educating the public on important issues of economic freedom
  • • Contacting legislators to advocate for issues advancing prosperity
  • • Mobilizing activists to attend local or regional AFP events
  • Torchbearers will receive additional insight and opportunities to engage in AFP activities such as:
  • • Monthly conference calls with liberty VIPs
  • • Torchbearer pin
  • • Frequent Torchbearer specific updates
  • • Regional Torchbearer gatherings to network with Torchbearers throughout Illinois
  • • Opportunities for prizes; including trips to AFP conferences
  • We look forward to you joining us as a Torchbearer by signing up here.
