Hometown Democracy - An Assault on Property Rights

Have you heard about Hometown Democracy?

Without exaggeration, Hometown Democracy is one of the greatest threats to property rights and prosperity that Floridians have ever seen.

Hometown Democracy is a proposed amendment to our State Constitution.  If passed into law, it would require local voter approval for ANY land-use change.  This means that if you want to sell your property to someone who plans on trying to get it re-zoned, the buyer would first need voter approval from all the citizens in that community.

Hometown Democracy gives your entire community veto power over YOUR property.

This would be a devastating blow to our property rights AND our economy.  It wouldn't just stop SOME growth in Florida, it would stop nearly ALL growth and development.  Plus, it would severely impact our already-weakened real estate industry.

If you are approached to sign a petition to put this on the ballot, REFUSE.  Hometown Democracy is being funded by out-of-state leftists and we will be working hard to defeat it.  The left is using Florida as a test case, if they can pass this amendment here they will try it in many other states.
