In recent years, Georgia has seen the passage of a number of strongly pro-free market policy victories, and I am proud that our 55,000 in-state activists have been in the heat of the battle encouraging lawmakers to support economic freedom.
In 2012, AFP-GA activists pushed for the passage of House Bill 386, which simplified a centuries-old section of the tax code and exempted taxes on business inputs for Agribusiness. It also eliminated the state sales tax on energy used in manufacturing and cut income taxes for married couples. AFP activists successfully advocated for the passage of a charter school amendment and a zero-based budgeting win that will save taxpayers millions around the state by allowing state government to cut waste.
