-Videos, letter writing and social media will oppose renewable energy mandates ahead of July 11 PSC vote-
ATLANTA— Americans For Prosperity-GA, the nation’s premiere grassroots organization for promoting economic freedom, is launching a multi-pronged, grassroots driven initiative in advance of a July 11 Public Service Commission vote for renewable energy mandates. The project asks activists to urge PSC members to “Keep The Lights On In Georgia” by opposing renewable energy mandates that have been shown to raise the cost of electricity while reducing the reliability of the energy grid in other states where they are currently in place.
The project will include a series of humorous internet videos, an Action Site at www.KeepLightsOnGA.com where over 3,118 activist emails have already been sent to members of the Public Service Commission and targeted social media.
AFP-GA State Director, Virginia Galloway, explains, “The President recently announced his agenda to place additional punitive burdens on energy providers in order to move America toward renewable energy mandates for favored technologies. A vote to mandate that energy companies use a minimum amount of solar in their energy mix will only hurt rate payers and taxpayers in Georgia and further entangle government in the private sector.”
