Seven50 – Big Government Central Planning on the Treasure Coast

November 06, 2013

The St. Lucie County Commission is holding an important meeting tomorrow and you need to be there!

Thursday, November 7th at 6pm, the St. Lucie County Commission will hear a presentation and vote on the Seven50 Plan.  Seven50 bills itself as a “Blueprint for ensuring economic prosperity” but you and I know that government doesn’t foster prosperity, it stands in prosperity’s way!

So what is Seven50? It’s an archaic federal plan that has been used by governments to micro-manage planning and growth rather than letting taxpayers, consumers and businesses grow naturally.  One of the seven counties involved has already withdrawn their support and now St. Lucie County should do the same.

While Seven50’s talking points may sound nice to some, the fact is that it is a program funded with your federal tax dollars who’s own video says its mission is focused on:

  • Government “investing” in people and businesses — Otherwise known as corporate welfare
  • Combating climate change — Government’s way of limiting your choices despite a recent study showing the climate hasn’t warmed in 15 years
  • Increasing the partnership between government & business — Government needs to get out of the way of business, not more involved
  • Economic Development – Government’s way of favoring which businesses succeed and which ones don’t

Your County Commissioners need to know you don’t want a non-elected, regional consortium dictating to you or them. Come out tomorrow night and join with fellow residents in taking a stand against the Seven50 plan.
