Protest Against Sen. Nelson’s Continued Support of ObamaCare
TALLAHASSEE—Grassroots activists will protest today outside of Senator Bill Nelson’s offices in Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Myers and West Palm Beach. The protest will highlight Senator Nelson’s continued support of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as ObamaCare.
“Senator Nelson continues to voice support for ObamaCare despite the fact that a majority of Americans believe it will make our health care system worse while causing health care costs to increase,” commented Slade O’Brien, the Florida State Director of Americans for Prosperity.
O’Brien continued, “Senator Nelson doesn’t have to worry about the increased costs and decreased services that result from ObamaCare because he will get to keep his current, first-class, taxpayer-funded insurance plan. Regular Floridians are the ones that will be hurt since they are still required to abide by this terrible law. If Congress gets to be exempt from ObamaCare, all Floridians should be exempted!”
Today’s protests follow the recent launch of JustExempt.me, a website where citizens can sign a petition to Congress asking that, since Congress has been exempted from ObamaCare, they be exempted too.
